The cobblestone house is located on the historic Hartford House grounds appearing to be part of and adjacent to the stable area at the circular drive. The Roudabush Survey incorrectly states "Hertford House Ground" with the photographs labeled "Hereford House". The 17 Avon address is located at the Hartford Estate entrance which is about 0.45 mile from the cobblestone house. The Google Maps link provided above correctly locates and orients the house.
The Hertford House grounds gate is off Route 39, just north of the Court House and Sheriff's office. Inside the gate is a gatehouse. Driving down the road takes you past the main house to the barn. The road continues through the barnyard and turns left, bringing into sight a small cobblestone house. The quoins are irregular in size and thus the number of rows of stones per quoin varies. Stones are slightly smoothed field stones of variable size and shape. Roudabush Survey page 56.
